Asia's leading Aluminium exhibition prepares to host a record number of international visitors this summer

ALUMINIUM CHINA 2013, Asia's leading international Aluminium exhibition is set to launch its ground breaking "Smart Sourcing" initiative in the Shanghai New International Expo Center this summer. With over a thousand international visitors already registered for the show, this year's event is set to become the most international edition in its history with a total visitor number exceeding the 15,000 mark.

To cater this growing interest and enhance the visiting experience of the show, the organizer Reed Exhibitions has prepared a fresh set of initiatives to benefit international attendees. The new highlights to the show include a brand new zoning layout to the halls, a new seminar structure and dynamic sourcing activities including factory tours and language assistance.

Facing positive signals from Asia's aluminium industry the trade fair for the first time will fill three exhibition halls this year hosting more than 40 first time exhibitors and up to 450 exhibitors in total with cost efficient Chinese aluminium materials and related machinery as well as cutting edge technology from Japan, South Korea and Europe. This year's strong call for the event's booth space clearly reflects China's growing international role as an aluminium processing country regardless of its leading position among the global aluminium producers.

By presenting a unique array of more than 650 semi-finished materials and 240 major aluminium equipment exhibitors like Shanghai Jieru, Taiyuan Heavy Industry, Novelis, Wagstaff or Qatalum the event provides an ideal trade environment for global dealers and manufacturers. Aluminium China's exhibition scope represents the entire aluminium value chain including raw materials, semi-finished/finished products, production and processing machinery and accessories.

For ALUMINIUM CHINA 2013 the blend of material exhibitions, high profile conferences and the complementary trade exhibitions COPPER CHINA 2013 and MAGNESIUM CHINA 2013 will again enhance the show's success. The segmentation of the floor plan furthermore introduces two new special aluminium product display zones. The first area will shine a spotlight on downstream processed semi-finished products for the transportation industry; the second one will feature packaging products. Alongside the downstream semi-finished products zone will run a seminar where participants can gain sharp insights into the latest developments in this booming industry sector. It will be a great chance to exchange best practice, share their experiences and keep pace with the latest technological standards.

Falling Prices Boost Buying Prospects

Driven by rising demand from the transportation, construction and engineering sector Chinese primary aluminum production this year already registered a 10.8% rise over 2012. At the same time forecasts for aluminum prices in 2013 predict a downward trend. The Shanghai Futures Exchange mainstream aluminum contract price will fluctuate between RMB 14,000/t and RMB 16,500/t (USD 2,300 – USD 2,700).

In December 2012, the Aluminium Corporation of China (Chinalco) acquired a 23.6% stake in Ningxia Electric Power Group, bringing its total stake to 58.9%, having bought an initial 35.3% stake in August of the same year. Chinalco plans to invest a further RMB 2 billion (USD 323 million) in Ningxia. It is not the only company in the business to have adopted the spend-money-to-save-money approach.

Exhibitor Product Highlights

A well-known local aluminum equipment enterprise, Yueyang Baling Energy Conservation Furnace Engineering makes silicon carbide ceramic tube-like air preheaters and big industrial furnaces, which it will showcase at the event. Using a silicon ceramic tube-like air preheater and a metal preheater affords double-heating, raises air temperature to between 600 and 800 degrees centigrade and consumes 30 – 40% less energy. To date, the Chinese aluminium industry has lacked a large industrial furnace. The new 60T Round Holding Furnace in secondary aluminum estate and 100T Double-Chamber Secondary Aluminum Smelting Furnace are two solutions that can ably fill this void.

At ALUMINIUM CHINA last year, Zhongshan Yilike Machinery Equipment, inventors of the automatic energy-efficient aluminum bar furnace and the Aluminum Bar Furnace Industrial Revolution, draw attention on the show floor with its slogan 'Save 80% More Energy, Generate the Top Quality Heating in the World'. The company's appearance at ALUMINIUM CHINA 2012 boosted its popularity within the industry and accelerated its development.

This year, Zhongshan Yilike returns with a much better known brand and a strong position in the market. The bar furnace completely reverses the traditional working pattern by using cylindrical construction. Its advantages include a small furnace door, a brief activation period and an automatic control system. The exclusive centrosymmetric constant temperature heating device facilitates the 80% energy save. It also homogenizes heating quality. Currently, this bar furnace is the number one of its kind in China for this sector.

ALUMINIUM CHINA 2013 will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from July 2 to July 4.
